Being more than one year into the Covid pandemic, the vaccination roll-out programmes appear to be providing some breathing space for both financial markets and societies worldwide. Spring is in the air, and economies are slowly opening up or thinking about doing so. This will ultimately boost economic growth.    

In the latest edition of the Virtual Economist Lunches, we warmly welcome Prof. Dick Vietor (Harvard Business School); Chief Asia Economist Chang Shu (Bloomberg), and Chief Economist Gilles Moëc (AXA Group) to present their views on how developments will unfold during the upcoming months, and on how to position for the risks and opportunities that lie ahea

These renowned experts will discuss their outlooks for the economy, the strategies of central banks, current political developments, and share their specialist views on the foreseen impacts on financial markets from an Asian, American, and European perspective. 

Speaker Line Up

  • Chang Shu is the Chief Asia Economist for Bloomberg Economics. She previously worked as senior economist at the Bank for International Settlements and Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Her publications span analysis of the yuan and cross border linkages in Asian financial markets.
  • Prof. Dick Vietor lectures at Harvard Business School with a focus on how countries and regions compete. He also advises the boards of a range of multinationals, as well as governments, in Asia, the Americas, the Middle East and Europe.
  • Gilles Moëc is AXA Group Chief Economist and is heading AXA IM's Research team. He was previously Chief European Economist at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Prior to that, he was appointed Senior European Economist at Bank of America in 2006 then became Chief European Economist of Deutsche Bank in 2009
