AXA IM: Groene beleggingsstandaarden EU zetten ook in obligatiemarkt VS de trend

De trend richting duurzaam beleggen in obligaties zal woensdag een nieuwe impuls krijgen met de invoering van nieuwe ‘groene’ rapportagestandaarden in de Europese Unie. De Verenigde Staten maken intussen een inhaalslag. Dit opent de poorten naar een nieuwe dimensie voor obligatiebeleggers, die er goed aan doen verder te kijken dan het volatiele pad uit de coronacrisis. 

Dit is de conclusie van obligatiestrategen en duurzaamheidsexperts tijdens de online media roundtable georganiseerd door AXA Investment Managers in samenwerking met Rabobank en Eumedion over de ontwikkeling van internationale duurzaamheidsstandaarden en de kapitaalmarkten. 

De EU neemt het voortouw in de strijd tegen opwarming van de aarde met haar ‘Green Deal’ die het continent voor 2050 klimaatneutraal moet maken. Met de invoering per 10 maart van de Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) wil de EU een standaard zetten, zoals Brussel dat eerder deed in privacybescherming. Als grootste institutionele beleggingspot in de EU van ruim €1,8 biljoen, spelen Nederlandse pensioenfondsen hierin een cruciale rol.
